Kohlberg’s Healthcare Services strategy emphasizes the most cost effective, patient-preferred and highest clinical quality settings for healthcare delivery. We focus on sub-sectors benefiting from increasing trends to care for patients outside of a high-cost hospital setting where we can execute a consolidation effort to improve operations, realize cost synergies and other benefits of scale while achieving enhanced organic growth. Areas of interest include: homecare (hospice, home health, supplies, remote monitoring); outpatient (clinics, physical rehab, wound care, oncology, pain); alternate site (behavioral health, adult day care, urgent care, imaging, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis); and ancillary services (ambulance and hospital outsourcing). Given that medical device companies typically are manufacturers, the investment themes we execute in that sector tend to be more correlated to our Industrial Manufacturing sector strategy (see our Industrial Manufacturing section for further details).
